C of I Alum R.C. Owens in Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame
College of Idaho alumnus, R.C. Owens was inducted into the prestigious Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame in San Francisco on March 22. Owens, a football and basketball All-American for the Coyotes from 1952-56, was honored for his commitment to the community following a stellar career in the National Football League with the San Francisco 49ers, Baltimore Colts, and the New York Giants. more
College Dominates the 52nd Annual Symposium of the Idaho Academy of Science
College of Idaho science students swept the awards in ecology and placed strong in biomolecular science at the 52nd annual Symposium of the Idaho Academy of Science (IAS), hosted by the College of Southern Idaho on March 11-13. The College’s Orma J. Smith Museum of Natural History also had a good showing, and Dr. Sara J. Heggland, Associate Professor and Chair of Biology, was elected IAS president. more

Yotes Math Scholars Score Big Points in International Math Competition
Yotes math scholars had their best showing in seventeen years at the 70th annual Putnam Mathematics Competition on December 5. The William Lowell Putnam Mathematics Competition is a North American math contest for college students. Each year on the first Saturday in December, over 2000 students spend 6 hours (in two sittings) trying to solve 12 problems. more
