The College of Idaho has had a rich history in men's soccer, dating back to 1983.  Under the direction of longtime head coach, John Calpin, the Yotes were a mainstay in the Northwest soccer scene, advancing to multiple NAIA District 2 and NAIA Region I Tournaments, winning the 2000 regional title, advancing to the NAIA National Championships.

The 2008 Coyote team, under the direction of current head coach, Brian Smith, became the first team in Cascade Conference history to complete an unbeaten, untied, season, finishing the year with a 14-3-1 record.
