Senior Toast

Before seniors donned their regalia on May 20, C of I’s staff, faculty and alumni gathered them for the annual Senior Toast, officially welcoming them to the ranks of alumni! Check out a full gallery of the day’s festivities here!

Coyote Athletics Roundup: The C of I women’s track and field team decided a fourpeat wasn’t enough, winning its fifth straight title at the Cascade Conference Championships! Led by junior Claire Otero, who was named Female Athlete of the Meet and Red Lion Cascade Conference Women’s Field Athlete of the Week after defending her discus title, the team posted 218.50 points, topping second-place Southern Oregon by 42 points. The men’s team took second place--the highest finish in program history--led by discus throwers Josh Brown and Juston Lindsley, who finished first and second, respectively. Both teams will compete at the NAIA Outdoor Championships May 25-27…The baseball team ended its season at the NAIA Basball National Championships, finishing fourth in its Opening Round bracket…The men’s lacrosse team received more postseason honors, with three athletes named as honorable mentions to the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association Division II All-America Team. Congratulations to Nich Guzzetti, Cory Brady and Jaden Carson!...The C of I will welcome some of the area’s top high school football players for the second annual Elite Camp on June 3. The Yotes will follow it up with a Youth Camp July 31-Aug. 2 for players ages 6-13. Presidents and Professors Out and About: C of I President Charlotte Borst was named the Idaho Immunization Program’s 2017 Idaho Immunization Champion in recognition of her efforts to strengthen the College’s immunization requirements, which mandate all students have vaccinations for Polio, Hepitatis A and B, MMR, Tdap, Varicella and Meningitis...Journalism Professor Alan Minskoff was recognized by Preservation Idaho, an organization promoting the preservation of Idaho’s historic architecture, as a Friend of Preservation for his years of advocacy and rehabilitation for unique locations around Caldwell and beyond...English Professor Dali Islam was promoted to full professor during the spring Board of Trustees meeting.

Tickets are still available for the Boise Little Theater’s production of Charley’s Aunt, an 1892 farce featuring C of I graduate Jonathan Fine ’15 in the lead role of Charley Wykeham. It is Fine’s second performance at the Boise Little Theater this season--he previously performed in the cast of A Streetcar Named Desire (above). You can purchase tickets here!
