Bid Online Now for Selected Items From Albertson College

2002. 03. 21.

CALDWELL, ID- For the first time ever, Albertson College this week launched an online auction site to presell items from its annual Scholarship Benefit Dinner auction, which will be held on Saturday, April 20 at 6 p.m. at the college.

By visiting the site at www.collegeofidaho.edu/auction, participants can bid on such items as antique scientific equipment, college memorabilia, art and jewelry. The highest bids will be posted at the end of every weekday, and the bidding will continue through April 7. Bidders do not have to attend the auction to win the items, but attendance is encouraged.

This year's event theme is "Fantasy Island." Benefit guests will be treated to a night of island music and dancing, as well as a chance to wine and dine with friends and bid in silent and live auctions. A raffle for a trip to a tropical destination, as well as a scotch and cigar expo will be highlights.

This is the first time an online auction has been available. Last year, 550 guests attended the live and silent auctions and bid on 400 items - helping raise $103,000 for student scholarships. In the past 15 years, the Scholarship Benefit Dinner has raised more than $1 million.

The event is sponsored by Hewlett Packard and presented by the Albertson College Office of Special Events. For more information, contact Darryl-Lynn Biery, Albertson College director of special events, at 459-5686 or via email at dbiery@collegeofidaho.edu.
