CALDWELL The College of Idaho's annual Liberal Arts Lecture is Thursday, March 13 and features English Professor Diane Raptosh. The working title of Raptosh's lecture is The Liberal Arts, Poetics, and a Pedagogy of Inconvenient Knowledge.
A dessert reception will be held from 6-7 p.m. in the Jewett Auditorium Foyer and the lecture begins in Jewett at 7 p.m.
The Liberal Arts Lecture is the premier academic event on The College of Idaho campus. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Raptosh said she was honored to be chosen as this year's Liberal Arts lecturer.
It has been deeply gratifying to have had the chance to think, read, and write about some of my pet topics, she said. Raptosh said her talk will address the role of poetry in the development of conscience as well as the poet's role as shaper of the world.
I promise some pleasurable moments, she said. And maybe some uncomfortable ones.
