Albertson College Celebrates Cinco de Mayo/Mother

CALDWELL, ID- The 7th Annual Albertson College Cinco de Mayo/Mother's Day Fiesta will be presented by Albertson Latino Americano Students (ALAS) on Saturday, May 10 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Hayman Field on the Albertson campus. The celebration is free and open to the public.
The schedule of events includes:
1 p.m. - Opening Remarks presented by master of ceremonies Ricardo Quilantan
1:15 p.m. - Grito contest
1:30 p.m. - Mothers Day Recognition (roses given to first 50 mothers)
2 p.m. - DJ Rick Balderas-Musica Tejana
2:30 p.m. - Tortilla Making Contest/Jalapeno Eating Contest
3 p.m. - Folkloric Dancing by Raices Mexicanas
3:30 p.m. - Judging of Car/Bike Show
4 p.m. - Breakdancing/freestyle competition
5 p.m. - Award presentation
6 p.m. - Music and entertainment
Throughout the day, children and young adults will be enjoying inflatable games and activities such as Dangle Hopper, Bungee Runs, Astro Jumps, and much more.
