Albertson College Kicks Off School Year With Community Service in Caldwell on Saturday, Sept. 6

CALDWELL, ID- More than 200 freshmen, upperclassmen, faculty and staff will participate in a community clean up in Caldwell as part of freshman orientation on Sept. 6 from 10 a.m. to noon.
The volunteers will work on several projects, including cleaning the Greenbelt near Rotary Park, Indian Creek and at each Interstate exit/entrance ramp (Exit 29, 30, 31). The clean up is being coordinated by Albertson College and the City of Caldwell.
Albertson College President Bob Hoover and Caldwell Mayor Garret Nancolas tentatively plan to kick off the volunteer event at 9:45 a.m. in the J.A. Activities Center parking lot on the south side of the Albertson College campus.
The project is part of the United Way's Treasure Valley Days of Caring, which is a weeklong celebration of service opportunities taking place Sept. 6 to 13. For more information about Days of Caring, see www.unitedwaytv.org.
