C of I Planetarium show June 12 will focus on Mars and Saturn
2008. 06. 03.
CALDWELL The College of Idaho's Whittenberger Planetarium will host a planetarium show on Thursday, June 12 at 7:30 p.m., which will focus on Mars and Saturn. The cost is $2 for children ages 5-18 and $4 for adults. Reservations are required.
The Phoenix Mars Lander successfully touched down in the north polar regions of Mars recently. It will spend the next 90 days digging and studying the soil on Mars. During that time, Mars will continue its eastward journey in our evening skies for a conjunction with Saturn and then move on past the ringed giant.
The four-year Cassini mission at Saturn will end June 30. The Cassini mission has been an impressive study of Saturn and its satellites.
The planetarium show will share these sights. Learn where to look for the two planets, see how their positions will change over the summer, and find out what these two missions have revealed and may reveal in future studies of these two planets.
Please make reservations by calling JoAnn Bellon at 459-5211.
The planetarium is located in Boone Science Building near Jewett Auditorium on the corner of 20th Ave. and Fillmore on the College of Idaho campus in Caldwell.
