Multi-generational Musicians to Perform During Albertson College Band Concert on May 16

2002. 05. 01.

CALDWELL, ID- Veteran musicians in their 60s and 70s will join student musicians in their late teens and 20s during an Albertson College Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble concert on May 16 at 7:30 p.m in Jewett Auditorium. The performance is free and open to the public.

The Albertson student musicians will be joined by the Caldwell Centennial Band, which includes a number of Albertson alumni who played for the college 'Pep Band' as far back as the 1940s and 1950s. The Centennial Band will perform old favorites and modern popular tunes.

The Albertson Concert Band will perform English folk songs from 'Lincolnshire Posy' by Percy Grainger, the upbeat 'Toward the Sunrising' by James Curnow, and a brand new contemporary - and challenging - piece by Brian Balmages called 'Invictus.'

The Jazz Ensemble will perform both past and present favorite jazz pieces.
