Model U.N. Club Hosts Spring Foreign Policy Speaker Series

CALDWELL (Idaho)- Members of the Albertson College of Idaho Model United Nations Club are encouraging fellow students to think globally with a Spring Foreign Policy Speakers series.
The series begins on Tuesday, April 18 with a visit from veteran New York Times Correspondent Stephen Kinzer. The lecture will take place from 2:40-3:40 p.m. in the Hendren Board Room in Sterry Hall. Kinzer is the author of Overthrow: America's Century of Regime Change from Hawaii to Iraq. The visit is co-sponsored by the Idaho Peace Coalition and CofI Model United Nations.
On Tuesday, May 9, the group will hold a campus roundtable entitled 'The Islamic World and the West.' The discussion will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Hendren Board room. The roundtable will include CofI Professors Howard Berger, Denny Clark, Rob Dayley, and Dali Islam. Following initial comments by faculty panelists the discussion will be open to all who attend.
The series will conclude with guest speaker Ambassador Cris Arcos, Director for International Affairs for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Formerly U.S. Ambassador to Honduras (1989-93), Vice President at AT&T, and Member of the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board at the White House. Visit co-sponsored by the Boise Committee on Foreign Relations (BCRF) and CofI Political Economy Department. The lecture will begin at 12 noon in the Hendren Board room.
