The College of Idaho's Student Philanthropy Council Accepting Grant Applications from Caldwell Nonprofits

2010. 03. 22.

CALDWELL - The College of Idaho's Student Philanthropy Council is soliciting grant applications from nonprofits throughout the Caldwell area. This year the council is soliciting applications only from Caldwell nonprofit organizations in recognition of the great needs in their immediate community and in hopes of building strong relationships with local nonprofit organizations. Applications will be due back on April 20th, 2010.

With major support from the Seagraves Foundation and other contributors, the Student Philanthropy Council has recently built a $60,000 endowment to support local philanthropic organizations with grants ranging from $500 to $2000. Over the past few years, programs such as Caldwell Meals on Wheels and the Treasure Valley Reading Foundation received funds from the council. The council consists of eight members, two from each class, with majors ranging from political economy to environmental studies. It provides students with leadership opportunities, raises awareness about philanthropy, and instills a greater appreciation for the philanthropic spirit throughout The College of Idaho and Treasure Valley community.

To obtain a grant application form or for more information regarding the grant application process, please send an e-mail to [email protected] or contact the Student Philanthropy Council, Box 52, 2112 Cleveland Blvd, Caldwell, ID 83605.
