Take Back the Night and Help Hope's Door

CALDWELL (Idaho) Be part of the 1st Annual Take Back the Night Hope's Door Benefit 5K Run/Walk.
The event is scheduled for Saturday October 15 on the Albertson College of Idaho campus. Participants will begin the evening with a candlelight vigil at 8:30 p.m. in front of Boone Hall. The race starts at 9:00pm, and it begins and ends at the Boone parking lot. After the race, participants will be treated to smores at the fire pit in the Morrison Quadrangle.
The cost for registration is $35 for individuals and $30 for teams. All proceeds from the event go to Hope's Door, a shelter for victims of domestic violence. For more information about the event call 459-6279.
Over 40 CofI students have volunteered to help with Saturday's race, and many of the runners are also from the campus community.
The Take Back the Night movement started in England during the 1970s as a march and rally to protest the fear that women felt walking in the streets at night. The first Take Back the Night march and rally held in United States was in San Francisco in 1978.
