College of Idaho hires new CFO

The College of Idaho has named Petra Carver as its Vice President for Finance and Administration. Carver, who currently serves as VP for Finance and Support Operations at Wilkes University in Pennsylvania, will join The College of Idaho in August.

Carver has more than 25 years of professional experience, working in both private industry and education. Prior to her position at Wilkes University, she served as VP for Finance and Administration at Northland College in Wisconsin. She also has worked at two schools in the Northwest – Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma and The Evergreen State College in Olympia.

Carver was chosen out of more than 100 applicants for the position.

“She was the first choice of the search committee, of the direct reports to the position and of me,” said Marv Henberg, president of The College of Idaho. “We are very excited about her coming.”

Carver holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration and accounting from Fachhochschule Reinland-Pfalz in her native Germany. She also earned an MBA from St. Martin's University in Olympia.

Founded in 1891, The College of Idaho is the state's oldest private liberal arts college. It has a century-old tradition of educating some of the most accomplished graduates in Idaho, including seven Rhodes Scholars, three Marshall Scholars, and another ten Truman and Goldwater Scholars.
