College Presents Third Annual Film Festival
2006. 02. 17.
Explore love with a French twist during the Third Annual Francophone Film Festival at Albertson College of Idaho.
This year's festival is entitled Daniel Auteuil, Amoureux or 'Daniel Auteuil in Love,' and highlights the considerable artistic range of French actor Daniel Auteuil, who plays a starring role in each film.
The Festival takes place on Wednesdays March 8, 15, 22, and 29, 2006, at 7:00 PM in McCain Theater on the Albertson College campus. On Wednesday March 8, festival goers will enjoy Un coeur en hiver ('A Heart in Winter.') The film tells the story of a man who does not know how to open his heart to love. Jean de Florette Parts 1 and 2 will be shown on Wednesdays March 15 and 22 respectively. In these films Auteuil's character falls in love with Mediterranean exuberance, which leads to tragic consequences. The final film, La veuve de Saint-Pierre ('The Widow of Saint-Pierre,') will be shown on Wednesday March 29. This film explores numerous dimensions of love, including the physical, the selfless, the intellectual, the patriotic, the fatherly, and the sublime.
All films are in French with English subtitles, and refreshments will be served after each film. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Dr. Elizabeth Angresano at (208) 459-5817.
