Albertson College to Undergo Acreditation Review in Early October
2002. 09. 25.
CALDWELL, ID- Accreditors from the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges (NASC) will visit Albertson College next week to review the institution's curriculum, status and standards. The college undergoes the accreditation every 10 years, and was accredited by the NASC in 1992.
Evaluators from peer institutions will visit Albertson on Oct. 2 to 4 to meet with faculty, students and staff, examine documents, tour the campus and assess the curriculum. They will report their findings to the community on Oct. 4 at 11 a.m. in the Langroise Center recital hall.
In preparation of the accreditation visit, the college completed a self-study, which the evaluators will use in their visit. The NASC will evaluate the self-study and the evaluators' report to make a final decision about the college's accreditation status in December.
In higher education, accreditation is basically an institution's license to teach and administer degrees.
