Albertson College of Idaho Play Selected for Regional Conference
2006. 12. 13.
The Albertson College of Idaho Theatre Department will take their fall show, Life and Limb, to the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival regional conference this winter. This is the first time an CofI production has been selected for performance at a regional conference.
The conference will be held at Central Washington University. ACI's production was one of only four productions selected to perform from participating shows from a seven-state region including: Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, Colorado, Montana, and Alaska.
The designers and the entire cast and crew will take the set, costumes, and props to Ellensburg, Washington in February to perform two shows for hundreds of college theatre students and faculty at the annual conference. The play will be adjudicated by two members of the national office of Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival to determine if the group will qualify to perform at the Kennedy Center in spring.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for ACI's theatre department to showcase our strong student and faculty talents and share our work with the hundreds of other theatre students and faculty from around our region," Department Chair Joe Golden said. "Our production will be featured along with those from college and university programs much larger than ours. Albertson College has been steadily gaining a strong reputation for quality theatre in our area and now we are able to take that message to an even wider audience."
In addition to taking their show on the road, three actors from the play, Marc Ewins, James Auw, and Shea Hall, and their acting partners will compete in the Irene Ryan acting competition and another chance to go to the national conference.
The acting and technical company of LIFE AND LIMB includes: Marc Ewins, James Auw, Shea Hall, Alyssa Martin, David Ketchum, Matt Lloyd, Andrew Lloyd, Brent Houston, Hongmey Zhen, Aika Shima, Chris Ullery, Justine Bushey, Brian Hosefros, Ali Rabe, and Jessica Austin. The production was directed by Joe Golden and designed by Mike Hartwell, Heidi Golden, and Deborah Penrod.
