Opera meets Broadway at ACI

The Albertson College of Idaho (ACI) Music Department presents a showcase, Opera meets Broadway, beginning Thursday, Feb. 8 through Sunday, Feb 11.

The Thursday-Saturday (Feb. 8-10) performances will take place in the Langroise Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. The Sunday, Feb 11 performance begins at 2:30 p.m.

Cost is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and students and $2 for CofI student. The Thursday performance is free for CofI students, faculty and staff.

The showcase includes arias, ensembles and songs from:

  • Humperdinck's Hansel & Gretel
  • Mozart's Magic Flute
  • Don Giovanni
  • Cosi fan Tutte
  • Menotti's Old Maid & The Thief
  • Don Pasquale
  • Romeo et Juliette
  • La Boheme
  • Penhorwood's Too Many Sopranos
  • Lakme
  • The Pirates of Penzance
  • Fiddler on the Roof
  • The Fantasticks
  • Kiss Me Kate

The cast includes CofI students as well as alumni guest soloists Curtis Crafton and Meghaan Jennings. The Showcase is directed by CofI music professor Dr. Mari Jo Tynon, with lighting design by Seth Sengel, and accompanied by alumni pianists Margie Koenig and Sean Rogers.
