CALDWELL (Idaho)- There are some new faces on the Albertson College of Idaho campus. CofI has partnered with United Way of Treasure Valley to house AmeriCorps volunteers assigned to the Earned Income Tax Credit project.
CofI will host two consecutive teams of ten AmeriCorps volunteers in the Simplot residence hall on the Albertson College campus. The first team will be housed from January 14 to March 10, and the second team will be housed from March 8 to April 14.
The volunteers are in the Treasure Valley as part of the Earned Income Tax Credit project. They will be working with low-income families throughout the valley, helping them complete their taxes and receive all the tax credits they are eligible for.
While on campus, the AmeriCorps volunteers will also be volunteering their time outside of their work with the Tax Credit project. As part of the agreement, they will participate in an on-campus educational service project and volunteer on campus for five hours per week.
Albertson College of Idaho is the state's oldest and longest continuously accredited private, residential liberal arts and sciences institution. With an average class size of 15, students receive personal attention from faculty members dedicated to teaching. CofI was recently named a 'Best Value' by the Princeton Review and was ranked 11 in the nation by the same publication for Professors Bring Material to Life.
