Welcome to the Pack

You guys. We have freshman on campus again. Like, tons of them. I'm not sure what the exact number is--I heard that there were around 130 moving into Anderson Hall alone--but there are A LOT of newborn Coyotes learning to navigate this campus of ours.

Goodbyes have started

Well, my first group of friends just left. My friend Dalio left last week for TCU, and my friend Madi leaves Wednesday for University of Idaho. It's weird saying goodbye to people, especially the ones that I know I may never see again. It's weird to think about, but I am getting so excited for the next chapter. I've been eating at my favorite restaurants, hanging out with friends and spending time with my family. It's almost getting a little too busy for me, but I'm definitely enjoying my remaining time at home.

Shopping

So as I sit here in the heat of summer, soaking in the sun from the day rafting the river, I realize I only have 25 days left in Bend. It hit me that it will be two and a half months before I come home again, and I had a little bit of a heart attack.

I love where I live. I have traveled a bit, but never longer than 6 weeks away from Bend. But then I thought about how much I need this.

McCall, Ghost Hunting, Quad Rave

This week has been so full, I don’t even know where to start! The morning of the McCall trip, we had a morning workout, and I was in the ice bath until about 10:10, and hadn’t packed yet. I rushed over to my dorm, on the exact opposite side of campus and threw a few things in a bag, including a half-filled water bottle (a true blessing, considering IdaHaven’s sulfur-rich “fart water”), a few sweatshirts, and I grabbed my thin sleeping bag and slipped on some shoes. I made it on the bus by 10:30 and had a grand time speed dating on the bus.

First Week on Campus

I arrived on campus on Sunday, which means I’ve been away from home for a little under a week, though not very much of that time has been spent on campus. I moved all of my stuff into my dorm on Sunday morning, said goodbye to my dad, and proceeded to a resident safety meeting, followed by a cross country team meeting. I did have the chance to eat a few delicious meals in Simplot before heading to McCall for training camp on Payette Lake.
