C of I publishes fall 2013 issue of ‘Quest’ magazine

The College of Idaho has published its fall 2013 issue of Quest magazine, which is in mailboxes now. The issue has a theme of “Leadership,” honoring the College’s longstanding tradition of educating leaders in many fields including politics, education, law, service and athletics.

Art instructor honored at Idaho Triennial Exhibition

College of Idaho alumnus and art instructor Goran Fazil’s piece “Hegelian Constructs” won second place during the Nov. 16 opening reception for the 2013 Boise Art Museum Idaho Triennial Exhibition. It is a prestigious honor for Fazil, who claimed second prize amongst 40 exhibitors chosen from more than 200 entrants for the annual BAM exhibition in downtown Boise.

C of I recital to feature alumnus Curtis Crafton

The College of Idaho is pleased to announce that baritone vocalist Curtis Crafton, a 2007 C of I graduate, will return to campus for a 7 p.m. recital Nov. 10 inside the Langroise Center for Performing and Fine Arts. Crafton will be accompanied by pianist Michal McQuay for a German “Liederabend” recital featuring two major song cycles by Robert Schumann, Liederkreis and Dichterliebe. The recital is open to the public and admission is free.   

College of Idaho readies for Homecoming 2013

The College of Idaho is set to celebrate Homecoming 2013, which returns to late September this year and will once again feature the popular Taste of the Harvest festival. A full slate of events is planned for Sept. 26-29, including a tailgate party for the C of I vs. Southern Oregon volleyball match, the annual Distinguished Alumni Awards dinner, a special “Seek the Greeks” reunion for fraternity and sorority members and “Embrace the Eights” reunions for the Classes of 1948, ’58, ’68, ’78, ’88, ’98 and ’08.

C of I publishes summer issue of ‘Quest’ magazine

The College of Idaho has published its summer 2013 issue of Quest magazine, which is in mailboxes now. The issue has a theme of “Nature,” a tribute to the College’s Idaho location and longstanding tradition of giving students opportunities to explore, learn about and enjoy the outdoors. 

The College of Idaho raises $6.5 million in 2012-2013

Alumni, friends and supporters have answered the call again for The College of Idaho, which marked another record-breaking year of fundraising during the recently concluded 2012-2013 fiscal year. Overall giving increased 22 percent to $6.5 million and a new record was set for the number of alumni making gifts to the College in a given year. 

Gift honors former C of I football coach Bonaminio

A $100,000 gift supporting construction of The College of Idaho’s Athletics and Outdoor Education Center will honor former Coyote football coach and player Ed “Buzz” Bonaminio.

The head football coach’s office in the new facility will be named in honor of Bonaminio, who served as head coach of the College’s football team from 1965 through 1971. Bonaminio also played halfback for the Coyotes and graduated from the C of I in 1956. He received the College’s Alumni Service Award in 2002.

Coyote Reunion set for June 27-29 on campus

Football is officially back at The College of Idaho, and it’s time to celebrate! All C of I alumni and friends – including former football players and student-athletes from all Coyote teams – are invited to join us June 27-29 as the College hosts the Coyote Reunion celebrating the return of football as well as the soon-to-be-built Athletics and Outdoor Education Center.

C of I professor receives Idaho’s top literary award

College of Idaho professor and alumna Diane Raptosh has won her second major literary award of the year with the announcement by the Idaho Commission on the Arts that she will serve as the state’s Writer in Residence.

C of I alumnus Bundgard named CEO of Influence

College of Idaho alumnus Tim Bundgard ’72 has been named a 2013 CEO of Influence by the Idaho Business Review. Bundgard, the President and CEO of Pioneer Title Company in Boise, and his fellow award winners will be honored during a May 9 ceremony at the downtown Boise Centre on the Grove.
