Goodbyes, Rat Testicles, and the Quad Swamp

I like snow. I don’t like the after-product, which more often than not translates into monster puddles. We had our first real day of snow at The College last week, and to the amusement of the students, the Finney Fun Run occurred as usual. Although I had planned on staying on the sidelines this year, I ended up running for the second time, braving the winter cold in little more than a pirate hat.

Oh November

I’ve gotten lost. I think it started sometime a little before Thanksgiving. I feel strange saying that a lot’s going on at the moment, (because when is that not true for anybody?) but it’s the only way I can honestly express how I’ve been seeing life.

#MundanePost

I love hashtags. If you use Twitter, or Google+, or if you’ve been paying attention to the news you’re probably familiar with them. They’re convenient ways to indicate your topic and are incredibly useful in micro-blogging. For example, right now on Twitter, a couple of the trending topics worldwide are #LiesThatAlwaysWork and #EnNavidadNuncaFalta (never lacking in Christmas). It’s not always clear why some subjects persist and make it to the top of what the virtual world is talking about, but in any case they’re easy ways to show what you are talking about in the moment.

SPIRIT BUS!

Dear Student Yote Fans,

We love your support.  We love your cheers, your outfits, and your body paint.  We love it when you’re decked out in purple and gold and wave your hands in the air like you just don’t care.  Your enthusiasm truly helps us to be better players on the court.  We want to win for you, Yote fans.

So we think you should know about an awesome opportunity that the Executive Council has provided you with.

Debate Week at Lewis and Clark College

Here I am sitting in a huge conference room reserved especially for debaters at Lewis and Clark College. Amazingly, this is my first time in Portland, Oregon. I have to admit I was freakishly excited when my purchases were not enhanced by sales tax! It was awesome!

RECAP

… of by far the busiest, most exciting, girly, glittery week of my life.  No, not cheer tryouts… No, not the Daffodil Parade in Puyallup, WA…

Formal Recruitment.

I already shared all my love for Greek life last week, so here’s a little eye candy.

I knew it was coming!

I AM A PROCRASTINATOR! There I said it! Happy!? No need to keep it bottled up inside anymore. I have been a procrastinator since I was in elementary school. The thing is though, I thought I learned my lesson since then. I told myself not to be involved in too many things this year and that way there would be no way I could get behind! WRONG! It sucks that I cannot join a sorority, or choir, or martial arts, or Model UN, or any other really epic thing that campus offers but I simply do not have time.

G-Life

So many letters, so many colors, so many girls! That’s right, rush week is here, meaning formal recruitment for the sororities on (and off) campus is in full bloom…

This is my first formal recruitment within Kappa Alpha Theta, and I cannot help but absolutely love it.  It gives me a great opportunity to spend time with all of my ‘sisters’, as well as meet a big pack of freshmen, plus a sprinkle of sophomores and juniors.

Inside the Shelter

So it’s the second week of classes, and much like the rest of my fellow Yotes, I’m super busy with all of my classes. However, in a study of irony and spontaneity, I just got back from a game of Frisbee Golf around the campus, and now I’m settling into an evening of reading on the porch.

In my next post, I’ll talk a little bit about my classes, but today I’m going to take you inside the Delt Haus.

Today marks my first post with videos! My boss is cheering somewhere.

Big Bird Memories

Last night I attended the school year’s first “Late Night”.  It always falls on Tuesday nights at 9 pm in KAIC, and I always leave a little less stressed than when I entered.
