Award-winning poet Melissa Kwasny to hold reading at C of I

The College of Idaho will host Montana-based poet Melissa Kwasny for a free reading event at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 23 on campus in the Sterry Hall Board Room, where she will read from her most recent collection of poems, Where Outside the Body is the Soul Today.

C of I faculty to host forum on immigration and identity

With immigration remaining a hot topic in political discourse, particularly after the Trump administration’s rescinding of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals policy in September 2017, The College of Idaho will host a forum on “Immigration and Identity” at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24 in the Langroise Recital Hall.

C of I alumni ride virtual reality wave into successful start-up

Sheridan Hodson ’06 used to sit in his office in Boise’s Micron Technology preparing financial models as he listened to the entrepreneurial podcast “This Week in Startups,” paying particular attention to the rise of businesses centered in virtual and augmented reality.

Chad McCloud, Hodson’s childhood friend, had just returned to his previous career as a real estate agent after eight years in medical sales. Almost a decade after getting his first experience in real estate, McCloud realized not much had changed in the way consumers bought and sold homes.

C of I and BSU researchers receive NIH grant for Giardia recovery

A collaboration years in the making between The College of Idaho and Boise State University in the research of the microscopic parasite Giardia has resulted in a three-year, $418,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health to develop new drugs treating Giardia infections.

C of I ranks in Top 500 in Wall Street Journal College Ranking

The College of Idaho has once again appeared in national rankings, this time in the pages of the Wall Street Journal as part of the Top 500 in the 2018 Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education U.S. College Rankings.

The C of I ranked at No. 401 on the list and was the only school in Idaho to appear within the Top 500. The rankings were determined through data gathered about four key areas for students when choosing colleges, including resources, engagement, outcomes and learning environment.
