The College of Idaho recently hosted the 2024 Idaho Policy Forum: Deconstructing the Election. The forum featured state senators, journalists and other state officials discussing topics from polarization to election data analysis. Click the link to watch the recorded livestream.
He wanted a book that could take a story about an archaeological site and be able to relate it back to early Hawaiian culture and religion. The triangulation of history (the story), archaeology (the site), and its early origins (the religion).
“I just really appreciate how personable he is and how much he cares about us students. So when I found him (after the national championship), I said ‘let’s get a picture. You came out all this way and this is pretty special.’ To have David come out, that means a lot.”
One semester, it may be European Judaic history. Then maybe an exploration of the relationship between Israel and Palestine. Or maybe Jews in Islamic empires, such as the Ottoman Empire. Or, of course, World War II and Nazi Germany.
Leaf chose the Long Valley Finnish Church in Valley County, near the small community of Lake Fork, Idaho. It wasn’t just a site he knew about, it was a site that has significance to his family.
