United Against Hate

May 13, 2024 4:00 PM until May 13, 2024 6:00 PM Langroise Recital Hall Lecture

As you may know, in September 2022, Attorney General Merrick B. Garland announced during the White House’s United We Stand Summit that all 94 U.S. Attorneys’ Offices would launch a new nationwide initiative to combat unlawful acts of hate. In response, our U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Idaho, in collaboration with The College of Idaho, the FBI, the Department of Justice’s Community Relations Service and the Wassmuth Center for Human Rights, held the first United Against Hate event at the College’s campus in January 2023.

This year, The College of Idaho’s Representation, Inclusion & Equity (RIE) Alliance is once again collaborating with U.S. Attorney Josh Hurwit and the Community Center to hold its second United Against Hate Event on Monday, May 13 from 4-6 p.m. (with doors opening at 3:30 p.m. and followed by a reception). This event will include a panel discussion focused on a recent case involving hate crime violations that occurred in late 2022 against members of our LGBTQ+ community. We are thankful to John Michael Schert, a member of The College of Idaho’s Advisory Board, for serving as a speaker on this panel and sharing his experience.

We hope you will join us for this important event. To RSVP, please see the following link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/united-against-hate-caldwell-id-tickets-861714430057.
