C of I theatre presents ‘Baby with the Bathwater’

The College of Idaho theatre department is pleased to present its 2013 fall main stage production Baby with the Bathwater, a comedy written by Christopher Durang and directed by C of I adjunct theatre instructor Kathy Simpson. The play opens at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, and shows at 7:30 nightly on Nov. 8, 9 and Nov. 13-16 inside the Langroise Center for Performing and Fine Arts on the C of I campus in Caldwell. There also will be a closing matinee show at 2 p.m. Nov. 17.

C of I launches 'Yotes Den' radio show

The College of Idaho is launching a new weekly radio show hosted by Voice of the Coyotes Mike Safford and featuring head football coach Mike Moroski. “Yotes Den with Mike Moroski” will air Tuesdays from 7-8 p.m. on KOOL Oldies 99.5 FM through the end of the football season.

“Yotes Den” typically will air live from Stewart’s Bar and Grill in Caldwell, and fans are encouraged to attend. The first live show Oct. 29 will be held in the J.A. Albertson Activities Center prior to the “Meet the Yotes Night” basketball tipoff event.

C of I student completes 'Water for Peace' project in Haiti

It was an eventful summer for College of Idaho student Margarette Pierre-Louis, who completed her “Water for Peace” project by bringing 2,375 gallons of water, 240 trees and 300 water bottles to her hometown of Nan Misye, Haiti.

Pierre-Louis, a sophomore environmental studies major, hopes the project will bring peace to the village she calls home. In addition to bringing water and supplies, “Water for Peace” focused on education and planting seeds of change in the Nan Misye community.

Rosenthal Gallery hosts ‘Short Stories’ exhibition

The College of Idaho’s Rosenthal Gallery of Art is pleased to announce “Short Stories,” a new exhibition of mixed media sculpture by Boise artist Sue Latta. An opening reception is set for 4:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, and the show will remain on display through Dec. 6 in the Rosenthal Gallery, located inside Blatchley Hall on the C of I campus in Caldwell.

C of I hoops teams host 'Meet the Yotes Night'

A new era of Coyote basketball begins this fall at The College of Idaho, and the C of I basketball coaches want students, fans, season ticket holders and the entire Caldwell community to get to know their teams before the regular season tips off.

With that in mind, first-year men’s coach Scott Garson, women’s basketball coach Reagan Rossi and their respective teams will host “Meet the Yotes Night,” a basketball tipoff party set to begin at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29 inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center on the C of I campus in Caldwell.

Campus Ministries plans service trips

The College of Idaho is pleased to announce four opportunities for the campus community to participate in Potter’s Clay service trips this school year. The Department of Campus Ministries will lead service learning trips to Ensenada, Mexico, Los Angeles, Mexico City and the Dominican Republic. The trips are open to C of I students, faculty and staff.

C of I welcomes renowned philosopher for lecture

The College of Idaho will launch its Carter-Chalker Lectureship on Faith and Contemporary Issues this fall, hosting renowned philosopher Holmes Rolston III on Nov. 6 and 7. Rolston’s visit will include class visits, a Q & A and the free public lecture “Three Big Bangs: Matter-Energy, Life, Mind,”  set for 7 p.m. Nov. 7 inside the Langroise Center for the Visual and Performing Arts on the C of I campus in Caldwell.

C of I Planetarium hosts October public show

Dwarf planets and exoplanets will be the topics of conversation when The College of Idaho’s Whittenberger Planetarium hosts its next public show at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16. Guests will find out what happened to Pluto and learn about other planets outside of our Solar System in addition to receiving an overview of the constellations and planets visible in the October night sky.

C of I campus hosts special three-day film event

The College of Idaho will host a special event on campus Oct. 8-10 celebrating the 20th anniversary of late director Robert Altman’s award-winning film, Short Cuts.

C of I to host Jerry Baur tribute concert Oct. 11

The College of Idaho will host a tribute concert by guitarist James Baur at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, inside Langroise Recital Hall on the C of I campus in Caldwell.  The concert is in honor of the late Dr. Jerry Baur, a 1966 C of I graduate and former chairman of the College’s Board of Trustees. The concert is free and open to the entire campus community.
