Commencement 2021

We plan to celebrate both the graduating classes of 2020 and 2021 with a Commencement ceremony in-person at Simplot Stadium on May 29, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. This ceremony will be live-streamed for those unable to attend in-person.

Due to ongoing safety concerns, graduates will only be able to invite eight (8) guests to attend in-person. Tickets will be distributed as the event date gets closer (find directions on how to access tickets here). Masks are strongly suggested for graduates and their guests and appropriate physical distancing will be enforced. Only guests with tickets will be admitted. Staff, current students, and faculty will be invited to watch the live stream. If individuals are experiencing or exhibiting any COVID-19 related symptoms, they are asked to refrain from attending.

The traditional commencement ceremony will be formatted to better highlight the accomplishments of the graduates and will likely be shorter in length than previous commencement ceremonies.

Regalia (Caps & Gowns)

Bachelor Regalia is in black and made from recycled materials. It belongs to the graduate after the event. Tassels are purple and gold. Click here for more information on ordering caps and gowns.

Graduation Announcements & Rings

General graduation announcements will be available in The College Store beginning in early March. Personalized announcements, as well as College Rings, may be ordered through [email protected].

Pictures & Videos

As a public college event, The College of Idaho will be recording media in the form of photography, audio, and video. This media may be reproduced and used for educational, illustration, promotion, advertising, and trade associated with the College.

Graduation Ceremony: The College takes official class and individual photos throughout the day. All of the photos are available free of charge on our Flickr page. You may use these photos as you'd like, including printing, but the College retains all copyrights.

Guest Seating

This year, there will be six tickets per graduate to attend Commencement exercises and there is no assigned seating. Typically, the event is held outdoors and we recommend coming prepared for the weather. We recommend arriving prior to 9:30 am for optimal seating. We also recommend having your entire group arrive at the same time as the check-in process may take longer than usual.
