C of I to host Chalk Art Competition

The College of Idaho Art Club is set to host its inaugural community Chalk Art Competition from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, on the C of I Campus in Caldwell. The event is being held in conjunction with the College’s Homecoming festivities and will take place on the sidewalks around McCain Student Center. The competition is free and open to participants and observers of all ages. 

All materials necessary for participants will be furnished by the C of I Art Club. Participants are free to bring their own tools or chalk, but watercolors, ink, spray paint or any semi-permanent or permanent mediums are not allowed. Contestants will meet at 10 a.m. outside McCain Student Center. In case of inclement weather, the competition will be moved indoors. For more information or to sign up, please visit

Judging will take place after 3 p.m. Prizes for the winners will include gift certificates and other prizes donated by local businesses including Dutch Bros. Coffee of Caldwell, the Idaho Pizza Company of Caldwell, Imelda’s Coffee Casa of Caldwell, Edwards 14 Cinema of Nampa, Northern Lights Cinema Grill of Nampa, and Artistblue Gallery of Nampa.
