Academic Tutors

The ASC encourages constructive dialogue between students and tutors with the aim of imparting to students skills that improve their performance in all aspects of their academic career and scholarship. Both the tutor and the student are active participants in tutoring sessions, and the tutors' ultimate goal is to encourage self-sufficient learning. Thus, we emphasize a two-sided, collaborative process in which the student seeking tutoring is well-prepared and ready with assignment prompts, homework, and other relevant course material.

ASC tutors are full-time students and are for student use only. The tutors are paid for their assistance and have been trained by College of Idaho faculty and staff. Tutoring is available in the Tutoring Center in Jewett 100 or virtually via Teams.
