No class on Friday! Our unique curriculum is constructed of fewer, deeper, and richer courses. At The College of Idaho, you need take only four 4-credit courses each semester – rather than five 3-credit courses required at other colleges/universities – allowing students to dwell on their learning without rushing to the next class.
The efficiency of the College’s curriculum means that all of its courses can fit into a four-day school week, leaving Fridays filled with opportunities for greater exploration and development. Use Fridays to hone your talent in music, foreign language, debate, and art; to collaborate with peers on class projects, launch student organization, or craft student events and activities; or to decrease the financial burden of college through work-study or off-campus positions.
If you are a student-athlete, strike a more effective balance between your academic and athletic commitments, traveling on Fridays to competitions without missing class – ultimately enhancing your overall performance in both areas.
Take advantage of Fridays to increase your opportunity for participating in internships, research, community engagement, and collaborative studies, empowering you to gain valuable, real-world experience.
And, stay physically and mentally healthy by encountering less busyness for busyness sake through our curriculum, and by taking the opportunity for reflection, contemplation, and absorption of and deep engagement with course material.
