Begin Your College Journey With Us

Choosing a college isn’t just about location or rankings — it’s about finding the place that shapes who you are and what comes next. That’s why so many first-year students attend The College of Idaho. They’re drawn to the freedom to study across multiple disciplines, to faculty who push them to think differently and to a community where students start clubs, launch research, get hands-on learning opportunities and lead with purpose from day one.

And, at The College of Idaho, we welcome students with a home school background. We find that our home-schooled students have the ability to “think outside of the box” and work independently – exactly the attributes you’ll need to succeed at CofI.

Is this the kind of first-year experience you’re looking for? Learn how to make it happen.

First-Year Admission Requirements

Before you start your CofI application, it’s important to understand our admission requirements for first-year students. • Official Transcripts (if any) emailed to admission@collegeofidaho.edu by an instructor, registrar or parent (not the applicant)
  • SAT and/or ACT scores (in lieu of traditional high school transcript)
  • Honors or any advanced placement (AP) exams
  • Writing ability demonstrated in application essay
  • Two recommendation letters (from adults with whom you have worked in a job, church, leadership or community service capacity)
