I chose The College of Idaho because of its reputation for academic excellence, the tight-knit community, and its innovative curriculum. I was especially amazed by the high acceptance rate to graduate programs, such as law and medical school Coming from a small, rural high school, I was also attracted to the smaller class sizes, allowing for stronger connections with professors and peers.

As a college, our “Yote” culture is part of our identity early on in our undergraduate career, building experiences that I take with me for the rest of my life. More specifically, my journey as a member, leader and captain of the Yote football program has provided me with lifelong friendships and the opportunity to pursue my dreams of playing professional football following graduation.

Doing biomedical research concerning a relevant and important danger to youth health, vaping, brought the real-world applications of college to my fingertips. Working for Stanley’s Salmon River Clinic and ambulance service has given me an amazing hands-on experience with rural medicine. And, working as a lead ambassador has allowed me to help other students find this gem of a school.
