Football prepares for return to Simplot Stadium

September 6, 2017
Football Charge

Three years ago, The College of Idaho Coyotes stormed back onto the field for its first home football game since 1977. It was a program in its infancy, a team with few expectations of immediate success. Some doubted the Yotes could go toe-to-toe with the much older programs on their schedule, little more than a bye week for the opposition.

But the long odds didn’t matter in that moment the Yotes entered Simplot Stadium to a gleeful chorus of rallying cheers from the #YoteFam. The charged atmosphere of the 5,000 strong fans in the stands ushered in a new era for C of I athletics and ultimately led to a 31-28 victory over the Montana Western Bulldogs for the first home win in 37 years.

“Running out of the gate over there and the crowd going nuts, it’s awesome,” C of I 2014 linebacker Jason Byce said to reporters about the fans’ response for that memorable game. “It is unbelievable.”

Now in its fourth season since returning to C of I, the Yotes are preparing for their next home opener at Simplot Stadium — and just like that sunny Saturday afternoon in 2014, they want every single member of the #YoteFam they can fit into the stadium present to spur them to victory.

The Yotes make their home football return against the Southern Oregon University Raiders at 1 PM on Saturday, September 9 at Simplot Stadium. Both single game and season tickets are available for purchase online here. General admission single game tickets can be purchased for $13 online as well as at Simplot Stadium on game day beginning 90 minutes prior to kickoff. C of I students, staff and faculty can attend free of charge, but must still reserve tickets.

Season tickets for all five of C of I’s home games this season are available for purchase through September 16, which will be the Yotes’ second home game of the season. Reserved season tickets for the Jerry Ferguson Reserved Seating Area are $115 and feature a specific seat and a provided seat back, while general admission season tickets for all ages are $50. The 2017 general admission family pass, which covers two adults and two children, is available for $150, with an additional $30 per extra child.

Tailgating spots are available for each football game this season for both cars and RVs. The designated lots will open five hours before the game starts, allowing fans to enjoy a full morning and afternoon of celebration and hype before making their way to Simplot Stadium as a group. Season tailgate spots and single game spots are available for purchase online here.

We hope you’re ready to rally, #YoteFam! See you at the stadium!
