  • Construction at the Cruzen-Murray Library is now heading into Month 17! We’re making a lot of really great progress on the new library, and as usual, we’ve been getting great video of the construction process! Check out this timelapse of all the work that got done over July 2017 here!

  • The Yotes are back on the football field! Practices and scrimmages have officially gotten started for the men’s football team as they prepare for their season opener against Montana Western on August 26. Check out this feature done on the team by the Idaho-Press Tribune, as well as this photo gallery of the team’s fall scrimmage!

  • The men’s basketball team has a pair of major scrimmages set for this season against two Division I opponents: Boise State University and the defending national runners-up, Gonzaga University! The Yotes will face off against BSU on Nov. 2 and battle Gonzaga on Nov. 4. Check out the team’s full schedule here!

  • Coyote Athletics Roundup: The 33rd annual Coyote Open golf tournament has been announced for Friday, September 29 at Falcon Crest Golf Course…Women’s volleyball has swept their opening matches at the HIU Summer Slam, defeating Westmont and Vanguard…Former men’s basketball player Aitor Zubizarreta has signed a professional contract with RETAbet Bilboa Basket of Spain’s LIGA ACB. Congratulations on the successful signing, Aitor, and good luck in Spain!

  • Rep. Luke Malek ’04 of the Idaho State Legislature has formally announced his candidacy for Idaho’s 1st congressional district in 2018. An attorney and a third-term state representative, Malek is the third big-name Republican to enter the race for Rep Raul Labrador’s vacating seat. “Idahoans are tired of the excuses,” Malek said in a statement. “They’re looking for a leader who works hard, solves problems and will stand up to this job-killing bureaucracy. I share their views and will work tirelessly to make sure their voices are heard in Washington, D.C.” A full-story can be found in The Spokesman-Review here.

  • Alumni News and Notes: C of I Board of Trustees member Jill Twedt ’01 has been appointed vice president, legal and corporate secretary at Boise Cascade Company. She joined Boise Cascade as senior counsel in 2007 and leads the company’s compliance committee. Congratulations, Jill!
