  • Klara Hansberger, a two-term Trustee of the College back in the 1980s, passed away in January at the age of 101Hansberger was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the College in 1985 and, with the help of her family, the Klara K. Hansberger Endowed Professorship was created in her honor. Dr. Mee-Ae Kim of the history department was selected for the honor. (Idaho Statesman)
  • The sixth-annual "She-Tech Explorer for a Day" event brought many high school students to campus in January. (KIVI-TV)
  • The College was ranked as one of the top-200 most difficult colleges to get into. (Barron News Shield)
  • All College of Idaho undergraduates are now eligible for a $20,000 scholarship if they are admitted into the Early Career MBA program at Willamette University in Oregon. (Willamette University)
Bezawiit Kassaye
  • The United Against Hate event on campus, held on Martin Luther King, Jr., Day, drew a capacity crowd inside the Langroise Recital Hall. Thank you to all of our guests, including members of the media, who joined us for the occasion.  And thank you to our students, like Bezawit Kassaye, who participated. Kassaye delivered an original poem about her dreams as a young woman of color in our times.  (KTVB TV)
Yote Basketball Celebrates
  • The College of Idaho's men's basketball team ascended to the No. 1 ranking in the nation in mid-January and, upon reaching the top spot, has just continued to win. Head coach Colby Blaine and his squad lost its opening game (against then-top-ranked Arizona Christian) ... and has not lost since, a span of more than 20 consecutive victories. (KTVB-TV)
