Virtual Commencement Scheduled for Saturday Morning

May 21, 2020

To all in The College of Idaho family,

On behalf of The College of Idaho’s Virtual Commencement Team, you are all invited to join us in celebrating the Class of 2020 in our first-ever Virtual Commencement! The video event will be shown live as a Facebook Video Premiere, beginning at the same time our previously scheduled in-person commencement would have been held, Saturday, May 23rd at 10 a.m. (MDT).

The virtual commencement will include inspiring speeches from two senior speakers, comments from our Co-Presidents, a pair of senior awards that are traditionally revealed during commencement (the Deans’ Award and the Alumni Distinguished Senior Award), a few other special recognitions, and of course, the Class of 2020. Each of the 205 graduates will have a video graphic displaying their majors/minors. We also gave each senior the opportunity to send in a special video or photos to be displayed after their name is shown. We had a tremendous number of seniors send in photos and videos, and we think all will enjoy the creativity and personality displayed by our graduates. After all the seniors are recognized, there will be a few more video surprises you’ll want to stick around for. The entire video presentation is 94 minutes.

The video will be displayed at the following link on the College’s Facebook page:

You do not need to have a Facebook account to access the virtual commencement. However, you do need an account if you would like to post comments are participate in the chat function.

Those who do not have a Facebook account may encounter the following screen when trying to access the page:

Simply click the “Not Now” button at the bottom of that graphic, and the user should still be able to view the video stream.

As a backup, we will also be posting the video on the College’s YouTube channel at the same time as the Facebook stream. However, we do encourage everyone to engage with the Facebook stream as the priority so we can share in the comments and chat function. The College’s YouTube channel is located at

Please feel free to forward this invitation to family and friends and all who would like to join us in the celebration of the Class of 2020!

Go Yotes! And congratulations to the Class of 2020!!
