Policies & Procedures

Trip & Workshop Sign-up

Come by the Outdoor Program office during office hours to sign up for trips or workshops. If there is a fee required, a deposit for the total amount of the trip is required to reserve your spot. Separate deposits are required for each activity you wish to attend. Make checks payable to The College of Idaho Outdoor Program. If a trip is full, your deposit will be returned to you and your name will be placed on the waiting list.

Pre-Trip Meetings

Meetings will be scheduled for overnight trips. Attendance at these meetings is mandatory; not attending a pre-trip meeting means you forego your spot on the trip. At these meetings we will discuss associated risks and safety, meals, equipment use, transportation, trip times, and the itinerary.

Refund Deadline

This is the last day you can cancel and still get your money back. After the refund date, you can get your money back only if you or a staff member can find someone to fill your place. This policy is intended to prevent people from canceling at the last minute and helps to keep the cost of the trips down.

The Outdoor Program provides all the necessary equipment for trips.

Planning your own adventure? Come by and rent the essentials for camping, backpacking, and water sports. We will do our best to outfit your particular needs from our rental shop inventory.

Liability Waiver Form

We require that you sign a release before each trip. The Outdoor Program expects you to act in a safe manner wherein you are not placing yourself or others in harm’s way. Participants on these trips are representing The College of Idaho and are expected to follow the college rules and guidelines to include, but not limited to, The College of Idaho alcohol policy. The liability waiver form, which can be downloaded below, must be signed and returned at the pre-trip meeting.
