  • The 2018 Idaho State Democratic Convention will be held at the C of I on June 29-30, featuring former Missouri Secretary of State and current president of Let America Vote Jason Kander as the keynote speaker. General attendance is free, while prices for other convention events will vary. Learn more about the upcoming convention and purchase tickets for events here.

  • Coyote Athletics Roundup: C of I senior Claire Otero was selected as the 2018 recipient of the U.S. Bank-Cascade Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, the league’s top academic honor for athletes. Otero is the third C of I student-athlete to receive the honor, following in the footsteps of Colleen Smith and Aleah Lowber. Well done, Claire!...C of I earned a Top-20 finish in the 2017-2018 Learfield NAIA Directors’ Cup, finishing at No. 16 among NAIA institutions. C of I was one of three CCC schools in the Top-25, following behind Southern Oregon at No. 13 and ahead of Eastern Oregon at No. 21…Fifteen new football recruits have signed letters of intent for the upcoming 2018 season, including three Idaho players and 13 true freshmen…Former Yote baseball stars Riley O’Brien and Zach Draper, each drafted in the 2017 Major League Baseball First-Year Players’ Draft, have made the most of their first years as professional players. O’Brien currently pitches for the Bowling Green Hot Rods, posting a 2-1 record with a 1.98 ERA in 13 appearances. Draper pitches with the Lake County Captains, posting a 3.58 ERA in 2017...C of I's lacrosse program was recently featured in the Idaho Statesman as a contributor to the growing popularity of the sport within Idaho.

  • Faculty and Staff News: Jill Twedt ’01 and former C of I staff member Adan David Callsen were each honored at the Idaho Business Review’s Accomplished Under 40 Awards. Twedt is currently the Vice President and Legal & Corporate Secretary at Boise Cascade Company and is in her first term on C of I’s Board of Trustees, while Callsen is currently the event director at the Idaho Botanical Garden. The two were each recognized at a dinner gala on June 12 alongside 38 other professionals.
  • Alumni News and Notes: Cynthia Hand ’00 has a new book coming out on June 26th alongside co-authors Brodi Ashton and Jodi Meadows, “My Plain Jane,” a follow-up to their original story “My Lady Jane.” The three authors did a group interview with Publishers Weekly, which can be found here…Burke A. Hays, MPH, ’06 completed a fellowship last summer at the Library of Congress’ Congressional Research Service. Burke developed reports for Congress regarding payment and delivery system reforms in the Medicaid program. The fellowship led to his recent hiring at Mathematic Policy Research, where he works on Medicaid policy and program evaluation…Dr. Allen Evans received the 2018 Distinguished Faculty Award at Eastern Oregon University, where he currently serves as a faculty member in the College of Education.
