First-Year Down Program

When our football players aren’t getting ready for the start of the season, they contribute to the local community. As part of the tradition for the College’s freshman football players, the first-year teammates completed a service project at Leaning Barn Farm in Parma, deadheading flowers and beautifying the area. Coyote Athletics Roundup: Save the date! The 34th Annual Coyote Open will start at 11 a.m. in Kuna, Idaho at the Falcon Crest Golf Club. Stay tuned for more information as we approach the date…Sophomore Joey Brant was recently featured in the Redmond Spokesman, which profiled his contributions to the men’s lacrosse and soccer teams.

Faculty and Staff Notes: History professor Dr. Mark Smith was invited for an interview with Salt + Light Media’s WITNESS program in Toronto, Canada about his book The Final Days of Jesus: The Thrill of Defeat, the Agony of Victory. The interview is scheduled to be aired on the network’s flagship program in Lent 2019…Health and Human Performance Professor Matthew Laye recently co-authored this piece on how physical activity can reduce hyperglycemia post-meals. Alumni News and Notes: Matthew Kenitzer ’03 has become an ordained Christian minister at St. John’s Reformed Church in Friedensburg, Pennsylvania. After graduating from the C of I with a degree in fine art and graphic design, Kenitzer earned his master’s of divinity degree in Christian ministry and biblical languages from Corban University. He became a senior pastor at St. John’s in June.
