Yet another Coyote baseball player is on his way to the major leagues! Former Coyote pitcher and student-assistant coach Mitch Viydo signed a free agent contract with the Seattle Mariners and will join their Arizona League affiliate. Good luck, Mitch!...Meanwhile, fellow Coyote pitcher Riley O’Brien is making good on his own pro opportunity, pitching for the Princeton Rays after being drafted in the eighth round of the MLB Draft. All practices are open to the public, including an intrasquad scrimmage at 9 a.m. on Aug. 12…The women’s volleyball team has added six new recruits for the 2017 season and are set for their season opener on Aug. 16-17 at the annual Summer Slam Tournament.

Jitendar Singh ’13 has published his first novel, Fracture Point, which is now available on Amazon. The first in a new series, Fracture Point follows Jack Griffin as he uses his newfound mystic talents to navigate a new world of gods, magic and nobility. Congratulations, J. Singh!

Dr. Rebecca Constantino ’85 has been named a finalist for the CNN Hero Awards. Earlier this year, she received the G2 Pilot Overachiever Award for her work as the founder of Access Books, a Los Angeles based non-profit dedicated to increasing literacy rate.

James Alderman ’96 will assume the responsibilities of Senior Vice President, corporate Secretary and General Counsel of the J.R. Simplot Company effective Aug. 28.
