New issue of Quest hits the mail

December 6, 2019
Fall/Winter Quest

The latest issue of Quest, the College’s official magazine, will be hitting mailboxes soon with a distinct international feel to it.

The theme for the Fall/Winter issue is Global Mindset with a centerpiece story titled "The Most Diverse 55 Acres in Idaho" and traces the roots of the international student population and the richness it brings to the entire campus.

The issue contains features on students, alumni, faculty, and staff as well as news and notes about the campus community as a whole. Academics, athletics, clubs, and activities are all included as the College works to keep all of the YoteFam up to date on what is happening at The College of Idaho. The new issue is available online now.

The main feature story delves into the College’s international growth and examples of how the students have embraced the opportunities it has presented. Other stories include a feature about a German international student who showed up 16 months ago with one suitcase but is leaving a lasting impact on everyone around her. Political Economy Professor Jasper LiCalzi discusses what he has learned in his 27 years at the College as his retirement approaches and Arnoldo Hernandez, the College’s director of inclusion and intercultural engagement, is also profiled. And we share the story of a member of the men’s soccer team whose family has overcome obstacles most cannot imagine to help him find his path to Caldwell.

The College of Idaho has a 128-year-old legacy of excellence. The College is known for its outstanding academic programs, winning athletics tradition and history of producing successful graduates, including seven Rhodes Scholars, three governors, and countless business leaders and innovators. Its distinctive PEAK Curriculum challenges students to attain competency in the four knowledge peaks of humanities, natural sciences, social sciences and a professional field—empowering them to earn a major and three minors in four years. The College’s close-knit, residential campus is located in Caldwell, where its proximity both to Boise and to the world-class outdoor activities of southwest Idaho’s mountains and rivers offers unique opportunities for learning beyond the classroom.  For more information, visit www.collegeofidaho.edu
