Slip 'N Slide

  • Our students had to fight through the stress of final exams before they could reach the joy of Commencement — and with temperatures reaching into the 80s on the day before the start of exams, a group of students decided the best way to combat that stress was to slide the day away on a makeshift Slip ‘N Slide!

Senior Toast 2018

  • Coyote Athletics Roundup: The men’s lacrosse team made the trip to Salt Lake City to compete in the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association Division II National Tournament. Although they fell to eventual tournament semifinalist Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs, the Yotes made a statement in their consolation round against San Marcos, picking up the win 9-4. Senior Nich Guzzetti, who set a school record 59 goals on the season, became the first player ever from the Yotes program to be named a first-team MCLA All-American…C of I’s athletic training staff was named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Athletic Training Staff of the Year for 2017-18, honoring Linda Gibbens, Alyssa Frei, Seienna Handegard and Courtney Alley for their work with C of I’s nearly 400 student-athletes. Gibbens will be put forth by the College for NAIA-ATA Athletic Trainer of the Year…Although the women’s track team earned their sixth-straight championship at the CCC Championships, the men’s team finished fifth in the meet. Josh Brown won his second-straight Cascade Conference discus title along the way…C of I swimmer Maddy Kelly was honored as a first-team selection to the Google Cloud College Division Academic All-District 4 At-Large Team, one of 10 student-athletes around the country to be selected for the honor. Meanwhile, 51 other student-athletes were among the 325 honorees of the U.S. Bank Academic All-Cascade Conference Team, including eight softball, 12 baseball, 12 women’s track, three men’s golf, 12 men’s track, and 4 women’s golf…Colette Robert and Courtney Ellis were honored as first-team members of the 2018 All-Cascade Conference softball team…The C of I football team will host a 7-on-7 tournament and lineman skills camp at Caldwell High School in June, while the tennis team will host a series of camps to teach the sport to new and advanced players the same month.   • Faculty and Staff Notes: Ashley Mehaffie has been hired for the position of Assistant Director of Transfer Admission, coming to the C of I following work as Boise State University’s Director of Advising Services in the College of Business and Economics. Prior to her tenure at BSU, she served as the Interim Advising Coordinator for the School of Business Administration at her alma mater, the University of Montana. She will arrive on campus on June 4…Paloma Magana ’17 has been promoted to the role of Admission Counselor effective June 1. Magana will oversee the Rural Treasure Valley/Hwy 55 Loop, Alaska and Hawaii territories.
  • Alumni News and Notes: Amy Rhodes ’10 was featured by KTVB for her fight against breast cancer, which she was diagnosed with as a sophomore at the C of I in 2007. Rhodes is now currently the vice president of the Komen Idaho Montana Board of Directors.
