Farmer will continue at the College while adding the duties for his new role. While serving as an educator as a visiting assistant professor of music, he also directs the College’s Chamber Singers and Chorale.
The colorful creations were meant to showcase the talents of Fisher’s students, even though the campus is quieter than usual due to COVID restrictions.
Powell says the opera’s spoken dialogue is in English but all of the songs will be performed in Italian with translations available for the audience. The students involved in the production are not all music majors but most are involved in the music department.
This week, students, staff and the community get a rare opportunity to meet, interact with, and learn from even more world-class musicians courtesy of a music residency with cellist Dave Eggar and friends.
