As the spring semester unfolded, Dr. Brent Wells knew there was a task left unfinished. A commitment not yet fulfilled.

The College of Idaho will begin its Fall semester one week earlier than previously scheduled and will finish on-campus instruction by Thanksgiving.

Phelps isn’t just taking three yoga classes per week; she’s organizing them as part of the Dance Club’s efforts to keep the College’s community connected during this spring’s campus closure.

The award is given to students nominated by staff and faculty as someone who best embodies the values of the College community. Those values include community, integrity, leadership and service.

The YoteVote platform was devised by Alan Price ’10 when he was a student at the College. It was first used in 2008 and, despite minor hiccups, has never failed.

The College of Idaho is reaching out to displaced undergraduate students at Concordia University-Portland to give them an option to continue their education in an adjacent geographic state.

Sophie Trobitzsch wants to become a mentor and leader on campus. A resource for all students. To encourage interactions between different groups and find commonality.

"I know the type of students we’re getting. I know the academic background they have. I know the skill development that happens in the UWC in terms of being able to be away from home, being in a residential community, being part of a community. Why wouldn’t you want students like that in a community like ours?”  

He’s not talking about teaching students where to find the best hot springs. He’s talking about preparing students for life beyond the Caldwell campus.
